Grafalloy Axis Shaft Review

Overview/Technology-

The Grafalloy Axis shaft is one of the true marvels in graphite shaft technology. The fiber orientation present along the multiple axes promotes an improved shaft “hoop” stiffness and flex consistency throughout the the shaft. What does this do? It improves the hoop stiffness which in turn ensures maximum integrity of shaft response during the actual downswing.

Grafalloy now makes available the ProLaunch Axis Red and Blue. The ProLaunch Axis Red shaft creates lower penetrating ball flight and the ProLaunch Axis Blue will provide a higher launch angle maximizes distance.

What really makes this shaft what it is tough - a performance oriented shaft is the Smart-Ply Technology. The Smart-Ply preserves 100% of the carbon fiber properties using unidirectional, low FAW, high modulus fiber. The unidirectional fibers are then strategically placed along the full length of the shaft. The result? unparalleled design consistency and material integrity and performance.

Actual Player Feedback-

"This is by far the best shaft I have ever used"

"I am 15-20 yards longer, more accurate and consistent than any other combination I've tried. My golf buddies are amazed"

Pros/Positives-

The technology of this shaft is in a class by itself. It is definitely one of the most praised shafts I've seen reviewed.

Cons/Negatives-

Cost may be a bit on the high side. But the ones willing to spend and fit nicely into the shaft, will no doubt be thrilled with the results.

Overall Rating-

Again, the technology of this shaft is rivaled by few. If you are willing to pay for a higher end shaft this is definitely one to look at. Make sure you are fitted for the shaft/head combination and you are satisfied with the feel and performance. If it does GO FOR IT! Great, great shaft.

My senior citizen buddy, who has a swing speed in the high 70’s, replaced the shaft in his 3W with a G Axis Blue. He is searching for good shaft that gives good dispersion, and this shaft was suggested by a Golfsmith guy. Having played and tried several other shafts in A flex and R flex, he got the G Axis in an A flex. His dispersion has greatly improved. After he raved about the shaft, he suggested I try it. My swing speed is in the high 90’s, and I expected big hooks or slices. I slowed my swing down a little – just a little – and striped six consecutive shots. All six shots looked exactly alike: same trajectory, same distance, dead straight. I am still puzzling about that.
