Nippon shafts had a stellar showing in the tours this past week with a Top 10 finish at the Honda Classic - two players tied for fourth at -6 and the other tied for ninth at -2. All three international players were using the Nippon Prototype iron shaft.
In addition, Kerrie Webb made Nippon reviews shine by winning the ANZ Australian Ladies Masters event.
The Nippon Prototype is used extensively by the PGA Tour players looking for lightweight shafts that produce an optimal trajectory and ball flight. In addition, the LPGA tour has a loyal following as well.
Webb used N.S. Pro 1050GH steel shafts with a stiff flex in her irons and wedges. In her driver and fairway woods, she used the Nippon graphite N.S. Pro Regio Type 65 with a stiff flex.
All in all it was a very good week for a shaft company that is moving up fast. Nippon has always been a popular choice amongst players looking for a lightweight iron shaft with exceptional feel. And it appears they have begun to make an even bigger showing as of late.
